This meaningful activity was organized by New Modern Magazine, published by the Guangzhou Daily Press Group, and the Fashion 21 Program of Guangzhou TV. The Ritz-Carlton hotel provided the grand ballroom and its services free of charge.
Many world famous brands such as Bulgari, Ferragamo, Rémy Martin, Hennessy, Nokia, Chow Sang Sang Jewellery, Star Cruises, BAZAAR and others provided lots free of charge.
After a one-minute Silent Tribute for the victims, Miss World, Wu Yingna, sang songs together with celebrities and TV anchors.
Renowned fashion designer Pierre Cardin offered encouragement and blessings via video. The first lot of maxim dishware was provided by him, bidding in at 12,500 RMB.
Lots in the auction represented many different styles, including grand dresses, sculpture, paintings and calligraphy. Among these lots, a jewelry set provided by a middle school student named Ma Lijia raised 3,300 RMB for the charity.
Zang minority girls from music group Fanghua 18 sang folk songs for the event. A Guangzhou Daily reporter just came back from Sichuan and psychologist Hu Shenzhi shared their views with the guests.
