Life of Guangzhou - Cpai Bookstore and Arthouse

Cpai is an art bookstore located on the ground floor of an old building on Jianshe Damalu. Cpai offers a mixture of fashion and art related publications, but also children’s literature. In a simple and pure environment, book lovers are encouraged to sit down and read, maybe day-dream a few moments whilst listening to some soft electro-jazz, or even sift through their small collection of second hand clothes, shoes and accessories.

The shop is well integrated into the community. Every week, discussions are held with fashion experts invited to share their experiences. The name of the shop itself, Cpai, is linked to the neighborhood. Here was once located a village where some of the first migrant workers lived. The village was later separated into two parts, Dongpai in the east and Cpai to the west where the shop is today located.
