It’s easy to think Guangzhou’s bars are all the same. Unique places are hard to find, but then maybe that’s because they’re unique! The bars in GZ seem to be homogeneous. Our devoted reporters enjoyed their mission to find something different, and they did – in Tianhe Bei. Here’s one of the best.

A unique place, with Hong Kong management. Suitable for parties. In two sections, one of which is a bar with attractive walls filled with artworks and jewelry. The other is a private club on the upper level, featuring special theme parties from time to time, but accessible only by invitation. The bar is divided into four arears decotated in different styles to satisfy all kinds of customers.
I. Cozy
Foremost of all bars, Cozy focuses on the vision; rooms are in whites and greys, lending a tender atmosphere.
Seats are Thai-style, as are sofas, lamps and other decorations.
A fashionable joint, and if you book for a night, you can decide your own decorations.

II. Jay
A retro place, subdued lighting with many valuable collections and antiques furnishings.
Jay appeals to the many businessmen working in Tianhe. Koreans and Europeans are the most frequent customers.
Tips: good selection of wine, mostly male clientele.


III. Hunger
Hunger is a dessert room with wooden seats and tables. Well suited to young couples and especially those who like ice-cream!
Hunger features French ice-cream, of which some of their low-fat offerings are good for your health. The baker will combine different ice-creams with delicate cheese cakes and Belgian chocolate, to your taste.

IV. Beauty
Specially designed for the ladies, a lounge place with pink decorations. Offers manicure services.
