The price of meals at the time-honored restaurants of Xiguan is not as high as at restaurants in Tianhe, but many believe Xiguan outranks Tianhe in terms of flavor. Lian Xiang Lou is a perfect example of the authentic, delicious restaurants located in Xiguan, Liwan District.
Although the restaurant offers many new dishes, its prices have not increased. Here are some mouth-watering recommendations:
Har Gau / Shrimp Dumpling (6 RMB)
Har Gau, which is Choy Soy and shrimp enclosed by a thin, transparent wrapper, is both tasty and surprisingly cheap.

Cotton Pudding (10RMB)
This triple-layer dessert is made of mango pudding sandwiched by two egg-white pudding layers. Its flavor is reminiscent of cotton candy.

Three-Bean Cake(8 RMB / 3 pieces)
American beans, kidney beans, and black-eyed peas, are mixed together into one delicious cake. After refrigeration, the different tastes combine into a slightly sweet, subtle flavor.

Fried Fruity Shrimp Roll (8RMB / 3 pieces)
Shrimp, cherry, pineapple, coconut…all wrapped up together. Take a bite of the crisp roll and experience the vibrant fruity mix.

Whitethorn and Mixed Nuts Roll (6RMB / 3 pieces)
Although this looks like the traditional Cantonese “steamed vermicelli roll,” this roll is anything but old-fashioned. The outer layer is made of whitethorn juice, granulated sugar and water chestnut flour, and the filling containes sesame, peanut, melon seeds, almond, and other nuts. A succulent mixture of tastes!

Flaky Berry Pastry(10RMB / 3 pieces)
A heart-shaped flaky Pastry with Vietnamese berry and jam, sprinkled with mint leaves.
