 Exhibition highlighting Lingnan culture attracts visitors

 
Lingnan culture is one of the most important and ancient cultures in China and presents significant differences compared to Zhongyuan culture, the culture of the inhabitants of the northern plains. Calligraphy, painting, poems, local dialects, carvings and porcelains, all present a peaceful and simple image of an attitude towards life found in many southerners.

A small art exhibition featuring works from Lingnan artists was held recently by Trends in Guangzhou. The theme was "Summer Whisper" and the exhibition presented works in different art forms. "Such an art exhibition could be held in a grand hall, but that's not what we want," said Ms. Liu, one of the curators. "Art should be close to the people. That's why we choose a lobby in a comercial building where people come and go."
