11 Museums and Memorials to Open Free

Updated Beijing Time

11 provincial museums and memorials will be free of charge from March 1, 2008.

They include:

Guangdong Provincial Museum,
Museum of the Peasant Movement Institute founded by Mao Zedong,
Sanyuanli Anti-British Invasion Museum,
Guangzhou Uprising Museum,
Museum of Huanghuagang Uprising Headquarters,
Museum of Huangpu Military Academy,
Museum of Red Palace and Red Square at Haifeng,
Yeting Memorial Hall,
Yejianying Memorial Hall,
Linzexu Memorial Hall at Humen
Museum of Dr. Sun Yat-sen Former Residence

The protection for the exhibits and security for visitors is under preparation to welcome the free opening. The number of visitors will also be limited to avoid crushing.
