Beautiful, elegant, fashionable, jewelry is much more than that. Beyond the function of exterior decoration, jewelry also conveys the designers' vision of reality and the wearers' attitude towards life. In her lecture, a jewelry designer from Switzerland gave us her interpretation of the meaning of jewelry behind its appearance.

This vivid lecture on Swiss Jewelry in the 20th century was held at the Guangzhou Museum of Art (GMA) on Saturday (Nov. 18th), when "Swiss Design Now" was still on show. Undoubtedly Ms. Esther Brinkmann, the lecturer and wife of Consul General of the newly opened Swiss Consulate in Guangzhou, deepened the locals' impression of Swiss jewelry design. The Swiss Consul General was also present and some 200 people were attracted to the lecture.

The lecture briefly reviewed the history of jewelry in Switzerland in the 20th century and included many pictures of the jewelry, which impressed both designers and jewelry fans, including a traditional brooch with an oriental flavor from the early 1900s, to rings containing humor and sarcasm. Ms. Esther Brinkmann, took the audience on a journey into the diversified and expressive world of Swiss jewelry design.

During the lecture, Ms. Esther Brinkmann also showed her own jewelry designs and demonstrated her belief that jewelry is a communicative bridge between body and mind, and an expressive channel for individuality and inner thoughts.

The lecture ended with an emphasis on the importance of training and education for designers. "Most young Swiss designers receive training or education at home or abroad." Ms. Esther Brinkmann said.

According to our source, GMA arranges all kinds of art lectures regularly to provide a communication and learning platform for art lovers.
