The word "Mao" often brings into mind pictures of the smiling Helmsman Mao Zedong and in a similar way the music from "Dongfang Hong” or the “The East is Red” reminds people of those hard and simple times.
Over thirty years after Mao's death, China looks much different with more freedom and well off people; but the painter Chen Tong (陈侗) is a nostalgic and he shall exhibit a recent series of ink paintings which present an idyllic vision of the hard days of the cultural revolution.
