World of Witches and Gods: Bronze Ware from Ancient Sichuan

As far back as 2,000 years ago, Chengdu's flatlands located in Sichuan province in southwest China gained the name of "country of Heaven." This fertile land saw the rise of several important nations and played an important role in the history of Chinese civilization.

The 156 exhibits on display originate from two famous archeological sites – Sanxingdui and Jinsha. Most of them are tools and accessories used by the aristocracy in their daily life and decorated in the ancient Shu (previous name of Sichuan) style.
