Between the 1950s and 1970s, Chinese photography followed a standard model. The images became icons of visual language in Chinese photography in the 20th century.

Chen Jinhuai, witnessed the era as a recorder in charge of photographing people's cultural life from 1970 to 1984 in Shantou city, East Guangdong province. Experiencing this period, with its passion for revolution, he remained cautious and sensitive to history.

60 pieces of Chen's photos kept by Guangdong Museum of Art are on display bringing back memories and insights into this unique period.
