The "Beautiful New World: Contemporary Japanese Visual Arts" show is part of the celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of the normalization of the diplomatic relationship between China and Japan. The show will feature the creations of 34 artists from medial arts, architecture, fashion, comics, animation and contemporary art fields. It will be the first comprehensive show in China of the contemporary Japanese culture since 1990.

The show will have three themes: 1) Beautiful Realistic World; 2) New Media World; and 3) Doomsday and Future World.

The show will present visual expressions at various levels and explore contemporary society from different perspectives. At a time when nations around the world are facing a host of complicated social and political issues, the exploration of a new and more beautiful world may become a global topic that transcends national borders and cultural boundaries.
