Xinyi International Club

信义会馆

Updated Beijing Time

Add.: No. 1, Xiashi Zhi Jie, Bai'ertang, Fangcun, Guangzhou (芳村白鹅潭下市直街1号)

A former factory and warehouse which was abandoned in the 1990s, the Xinyi International Club adjacent to the famous Fangcun Bar Street was rebuilt by the Times Group and Hong Kong investors in 2002.

Veteran Hong Kong designer Mai Zhiling retained the basic layout of the factory but redecorated it in a modern style, with the warehouse, a German church, various slogans on the wall and 83 ficus trees well preserved.

The total area is around 25,000 square meters, while the architectural area of the twelve buildings is up to 13,000 square meters.

Various art studios, as well as photography and advertising companies, have located in the club, and offices and apartments are available for rent. A youth hostel and commercial facilities will be added in the near future.

The area is slated to become Guangzhou's version of Beijing 798 or Shanghai's "Xintiandi (New World)", well-known centers for combining art and commerce.
