Radio broadcasting in Guangdong province dates back to 1929. The Guangdong Radio Station, built in October of 1949, has set up the first provincial broadcasting museum in memory of the many developments over the last 80 years.

The museum has a variety of radios, cassettes, discs and broadcasting equipment from the early 1930s to the 1960s on display. Spectators can also use a touch-screen computer to listen to the voices of announcers from the past.
The museum contains a total of 350 exhibits and 400 photos, with radios making up a large part of the exhibition. Radios made in the US, Britain, Germany and Russia – as well as those made during China's different periods – are currently on display.
As of November 7th, the museum is open free of charge to the public.
