The gallery was founded in May 2005 and has been heralded as "the first really significant gallery in Guangdong" by the Guangdong Oil Painting Society.

The gallery organizes themed art exhibitions and salons regularly, offering a platform for artists, collectors, investors and viewers. The gallery also distributes artwork to oil painting markets and introduces potential artists and their works to the public. Focused on promoting the art of oil painting, the gallery has been designated as the art communication center by the oil painting committee of the Guangdong Artists Association.
