T:union has invited 9 jazz ensembles for a series of concerts overt the National Day holidays. For the 2nd edition of the Guangzhou World Jazz Week, the Guangzhou Sculpture Park will welcome an array of international musicians every night (20:30) from October 3rd to October 10th.

October 3, Sunday Joachim Badenhorst Duo (Belgium)
Joachim Badenhorst, clarinet & saxophon Peter Scherr, bass
 
Joachim Badenhorst is a promising Belgium clarinetist and saxophonist. His duo includes the Hong Kong bassist Peter Scherr.

October 4, Monday John Thomas Trio (Malaysia)
John Ashley Thomas, drums Eric Lee, piano Halizor';Fly' Hussein , bass

The trio combines three musicians' collective passion for jazz with Malaysian rhythms and harmonies.
John has collaborated with many established names in the music world and has performed around the world. He has performed with Latin Grammy award-winning flautist Nestor Torres alongside the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, toured the Blue Note circuit in Japan with Motown legend The Three Degrees, and played at the Arts and Jazz Festivals in Korea, South Africa, Thailand, Taiwan, Penang , India, and Singapore.

October 5, Tuesday Buzz Bros Band (Holland)

The Buzz Bros Band was founded in 2001 by Marnix Busstra and his brother, pianist Berthil – a cooperation that prompted the band's name.
The band has a very recognizable sound, and the four musicians are definitely groundbreakers in the Dutch jazz scene.

Logic has been making waves on the jazz/fusion/world music scene since its inception in 1999. Based in Melbourne, Australia, the ensemble aims to present its own unique, contemporary sound whilst preserving the spontaneous and interactive approach of the jazz tradition. The compositions of Glenn Cannon and Tim Wilson stem from diverse musical influences, including jazz, drum 'n' bass, Latin, classical, folk and pop music.

Steinar Raknes is one of Norway's foremost jazz bassists and songwriters. His trio on this tour consists of himself on the double bass, John Pål Inderberg on the baritone saxophone and Håkon Mjåset Johansen on drums.
Steinar has a fearless and explosive playing style, and is often compared with the legendary bassist and songwriter Charles Mingus.
Skaidi Duo (Norway)
Steinar Raknes, bass Inga Juuso, vocal
Jazz bassist Steinar Raknes and traditional yoiker Inga Juuso have created from their respective tradition a new and unrefined expression that transcends both traditions. The duo creates a distinctive musical landscape in which yoik and bass share equal pride of place.

Gumbo is a jazz parade band in miniature – a musical firework which hovers somewhere between the heavily arranged and the loosely improvised. It is naked brass with pulsing rhythms. The music suggests and combines the music of New Orleans, Ornette Coleman and Afroarabian folk music.

Morild is a highly acclaimed Danish ensemble which takes its name from a natural phenomenon that can occur whilst a boat drifts over a calm lake on a summer's night and the fingers of your loved ones glides through the water. Then "Morild" sparkles.
In 2005, Morild released their first album, Drømte mig en drøm, which was nominated in the category "this years debut" at the Danish Music Awards.

The Wild Grapefruit released their first recording L'ordre des choses on Label Free, the first and biggest collective of free musicians in the world.
