Canadian Band Chinatown "Cracks" Down on Chinese

Updated Beijing Time

French is considered to be the most elegant language in the world. It would be romantic to sing love songs in French. But they say love is also happy, so it is also expressed via song and music.

On March 12, The Canadian band Chinatown with 5 talented and stylish young men performed at the Guangwai (Guangdong University of Foreign Studies), a local foreign language university. As one of the events during the La Francophonie Festival in Guangzhou, the concert stirred the campus with passion and beautiful music from remote Québec.

Mr. Tim Coughlin, Consul General of the Canadian Consulate, was invited to speak before the performance. He expressed his hope of all speaking French to be consistent with the theme of the festival.

The performers' appearance immediately induced hails and shrieks from the universities girls. The venue was packed with over 600 students sitting or standing in the hall. They shook their bodies and waved their hands to the rhythm.

The noise from the audience seemed to excite the band. The music tended to get loader, making the heart beat stronger and faster. The two guitarists stood at the edge of the stage and were so close to the audience that they could be touched.
