Program Description
A delicate mix of sensibility and rationality, DANSE EXPERIMENTA opens up an unusual dialogue between art and science. Narrated by Lyon scientist Daniel Guinet, the mystery of life is revealed through re-visiting the basic science of atoms and cells; and history made sense in the light of symbiosis, resistance and mutation. With simplicity and sensibility, the provocative and sometimes striking choreography of Annick Charlot induces laughter and tears from the dancers and the audience alike; as well as moments of joy and sadness in human history. The performance provides an opportunity for us all to learn that the principle of inevitability in science, when applied to human history, can be vulnerable when confronted by the power of dream, poetry and conscience that we share. Since its creation in 2002, the production has been performed in France almost 100 times.
