No. 1 Violin Concerto Revised for Ballet

A ballet by the Guangzhou Ballet Troupe will be performed on June 20 and 21. The first half of the show will present selections the troupe has performed in overseas competitions, such as Roymonda's third act and double ballet of Sleeping Beauty.

The second half will be based on the No. 1 Violin Concerto. The two choreographers Li Ying and Pan Jiabin say they use music and dance to express humanity. To them, life is originally perfect until something occurs to disrupt its harmony. But when faced with disaster, the will of the people will always triumph and hope will be renewed.

The entire performance will incorporate duos, trios and plenty of group dances, expressing the indomitable human spirit through graceful movement and music.
