"The Emperor's New Clothes" is adapted from one of Andersen's most famous fairy tale. It tells the story of vain Emperor who treasures more than anything luxurious costumes. Hundreds of outfits are made for him all more wonderful than the previous but the Emperor is never entirely satisfied. Soon the court's tailors have nothing new to offer him and so the Emperor looses all interest in state affairs. He searches for a new tailor to create the ultimate rob; one day, two sneaky men come to the palace claiming they will give him what he desires the most...

Founded in 1956, the Guangdong Puppet Theater has written and performed more than 300 traditional and modern puppet shows winning numerous awards across the country.
