Synopsis :


Little Hans is a happy waif, and also a witty and versatile craftsman. One day on his journey he comes across a poor girl named Malukina weeping beside a well. Her masters, a wealthy but wily couple, always trick Malukina into fetching water with a broken bucket. If she fails to fetch the water, then she is denied her monthly wages.

Upon learning of her misery, little Hans helps Malukina to repair the bucket. He decides to work as a laborer for the evil couple so that he can continue to help Malukina out.

Later, Hans finds out that even though the couple has already taken so much from Malukina, they continue to trick her and refuse her payment. One time they even dress up as ghosts to spook Malukina and steal her things.

But brave and clever Hans doesn't buy the ghost story. When the couple stages another scene, Hans thwarts their evil scheme. Finally, the couple admits their wrongdoing and repays Malukina.
