At the opening gala of the 2008-2009 Music Season, the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra will sail again in September.

A priority repertoire is Reflet d'un temps disparu by the famous Chinese composer Mr. Chen Qigang who was under the tutelage of the modern composer Mr. Mei Xi'an, considered to be the perfect combination of a Chinese way of thinking and European musical composition. The program was premiered in Paris in April 1998, performed by cellist Yo-Yo Ma and France National Symphony Orchestra.

Another Dvorak's Symphony No.9 is a worldwide classic. It expresses the feeling of missing ones hometown and has moved numerous audiences for a long time.
