Life of Guangzhou - Guangzhou Opera House

Located in Zhujiang New Town, the Guangzhou Opera House is one of the 7 newly-built landmarks. The opera house includes a 36,400-square-meter Grand Theater, a 7,400-square-meter multifunctional theater and other auxiliary facilities. Designed by renowned British architect Zaha Hadid, it looks like a twin boulder with two stones on a subdued massif.

The choice of shows presented at the opera house is still limited in quality and frequency. Yet with such a magnificent building, it should be only a matter of time before the Guangzhou Opera House becomes an important venue in the city's cultural life. Art lovers can only hope the management chooses to focus on bringing quality shows to local citizens and youngster, and this for the lowest price, rather than optimizing profits.
