The Friendship Art Centre of Guangdong (Friendship Theatre) on Renminbei Road is conveniently located close to the Chinese Export Commodities Fair, China Hotel, Guangzhou Train Station, Municipal and Provincial Intercity Bus Stations. This is the central region of Guangzhou's transport, commerce and communication systems.

The Friendship Theatre, which has a history of 36 years, is a site of multifunctional modern entertainment. Thousands of national and international art organizations have performed there including the British Royal Ballet and National and provincial Chinese troupes. The theatre has incorporated modernist, acoustical, lighting equipment and can cater for the needs of a diverse selection of artistic organizations.
