Amateur Tennis Open in GZ for Roland Garros Appeal

The third stage of the 2006 Amateur Tennis Open jointly sponsored by Dunlop and Tennis Magazine, is scheduled to open on Aug. 25-27 in Guangzhou’s Xin’nianhong Tennis Club. The four stage tournament this year officially began on Jun. 2nd in Beijing.

Two stages in Wuhan and Chengdu are over, and Guangzhou’s is the third. The final stage will be held in Nanjing. Players in Guangzhou’s tournament will be divided into two age groups; a Junior and a Senior group. The Juniors will be divided into men’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s singles and women’s doubles, while the Seniors group will have men’s doubles and women’s doubles.

Anyone who signs up for the tournament will receive a souvenir of the French Open. In each of the four stages, a lucky draw winner will win tickets to watch the 2007 French Open.

1. Qualifications:
Juniors: aged between 18 and 40 (1966.1.1~1988.l2.31)
Seniors: aged between 41 and 60 (1946.1.1~1965.12.31)
* Notes: Amateurs only.
