It is the biggest and most popular sporting compound in Guangzhou, located in Tianhe CBD.  It consists of three main parts -- a stadium, a gymnasium and a natatorium.

The construction of the center was completed in 1987 for the 6th National Games in Guangzhou in that year.

Locals have Taichi Sword Exercises at the Entrance of Tianhe Stadium almost every non-rainy day.  

It provides modern and diversified facilities around inside for a wide range of events, like football, basketball, volleyball, swimming, diving, tennis, badminton, table tennis, baseball, softball, motor racing, bowling, snooker, and billiard.

All the facilities are open to the public.

Some training centers of Guangzhou are also located in this 580,000-square-meter complex, including football, badminton, tennis, baseball, softball and swimming.

There is also a circular shopping "street" of sporting-wares at the stadium for your needs.
