Tianhe Business Circle to Be Enlarged

The municipal government of Guangzhou plans to expand the Tianhe business circle before the Asian Games next year.

After the expansion, it will become the biggest commercial circle through out the nation, taking over an area of over 1 million square meters, Deputy Major Li Rongcan stated on a promotion meeting yesterday. He also said that Guangzhou would focus on the development of service industry.

Guangzhou's service industry accounted for 59.02% of the city's GDP in last year. In the mean time, Tianhe commercial circle became the main force of development.

Guangzhou East Railway Station Plaza will also be face-lifted. It will be transformed into an open-plan plaza, combining with leisure and commerce.
