Seven Guangzhou-Based Department Stores Ranked as National Topnotch

According to a meeting on the management and operation of retailing businesses hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the CPC, as a result of a three-year-long assessment,17 Guangzhou-based businesses, have been recognized as national standard department stores, of which seven rank as "Jinding" stores which stands for national topnotch department stores.

Those named include the Guangzhou Friendship Store of the Guangzhou Friendship Group Co., Ltd, the Beijing Lu Branch of Grandbuy, the Grand View of the Guangzhou Friendship Group Co., ltd, the Zhongyi Branch of Grandbuy, the Times Store of the Guangzhou Friendship Group Co., Ltd, the Xindaxin Department Store at Beijing Lu and the Gangding Branch of the Guangzhou Mopark Department Co., Ltd.

As a "Jinding" department store, each store should meet strict standards in scales, facilities, management, operation, service, credit, informatization and energy savings. The business area should be at least 10 thousand square meters with annual sales exceeding RMB200 million. Such a store is even required to provide a place for customers to rest with its area equal to 1% of the total business area. Besides, there should be facilities like public phones, chargers, water dispensers, barrier-free toilet facilities, wash rooms for babies, barrier-free corridors, elevators, stairs and toilets. Moreover, there should be parking lots with service-centered staff available.
