Wal-Mart: Guangzhou Sam's Club Set for H2

Wal-Mart plans to open its first Sam's Club in the Guangdong city of Guangzhou in November with the total investment of $30 million, nddaily.com reports June 11. The store will cover roughly 230,000 square meters.
Previous reports said that Wal-Mart was looking to open the store in the first half of 2009, and that the store was expected to generate annual sales revenue of more than $200 million.
Wal-Mart has selected MindShare as its media representative in mainland China, starting in May this year, a.com.cn reports quoting MindShare Guangzhou executive Sufen Liu. Liu said that MindShare will help Wal-Mart expand into new media.
