SCUT Student Publishes Thesis on "Nature"

A third year student from South China University of Technology (SCUT) in Guangzhou has recently attracted the media's attention for his role as contributor on a thesis published in Nature biotechnology Magazine, a top authority in science.
The 20-year-old Luo Ruibang is a member of the program "Building the sequence of the human pan-genome" co-organized by the Beijing Genomics Institute (BGI) and SCUT. He contributed by determining and fulfilling certain important experiments. The program is an experimental education model aiming to cultivate talents in the filed of biological information and genetics. The students undergo 2.5 years of theoretical studies in university before pursuing their training in the institute for the following 1.5 years.
