Updated Beijing Time

(Guangzhou Daily)

Established in 1994, the Guangzhou Tianhe Children's Chorus now has 70 more talented little angels aging from 9 to 18. Known all over the world, it is one of Guangzhou's top youth choruses.

Though all the members of the troupe are very young, they have become quite experienced in various singing competitions. In July this year, the chorus participated in the 5th World Choir Games in Graz 2008, held in Austria, winning the gold medal in the children’s group over more than 60 other competitors. Soon after, on July 5th, the Chorus joined a live show called "Town of Musician"in Austria's Dornbirn, the only chorus invited by the music program.

The kids practice three hours every Sunday afternoon, rain or shine. Nine-year-old Zhang Yufang from Longkouxi Primary School is the youngest among them. The conductor of the chorus, Lai Yuankui, said the gifted little girl is very professional indeed. After showing a good understanding of music at the chorus selection and one year of systemic training, Yufang is making fast progress.

The chorus has already traveled to the U.S., Finland, Germany and Thailand, winning gold medal after gold medal along their musical road.
