Charity Blooms Hope—2008 Winter Charity Ball of AmCham South China

The 2008 Winter Charity Ball by the American Chamber of Commerce in South China (AmCham South China) is going to be held at Shangri-La Hotel Guangzhou on Nov 22nd. Consul Generals in Guangzhou of different countries, Chinese government leaders, senior representatives from multi-national corporations, international friends in south China, and hundreds of member corporations of AmCham South China will cluster on the occasion, where they contribute to the public welfare undertaking while sharing the visual and audio feast.

With a theme of Charity Blooms Hope and a foundation of previous year’s successful cooperation, AmCham South China will continue its close partnership with China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation. Along with fun and joy, guests that present will have the opportunity to see a clearer picture of charity cause and join hands in contributing to it. Although half a year has past since the Wenchuan earthquake of this May occurred, members from Board of Governors and member companies of AmCham South China still concern the reconstruction of quake-affected areas and the life of affected people. As part of AmCham South China’s Three-Year Plan of post-disaster reconstruction, the charity fund which is be raised on this Winter Charity Ball, with necessary expenditure deducted, will all go to China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation for reconstruction work. Member corporations, friends of the chamber are all enthusiastic to participate and will make generous contribution. Besides sponsorship, cash and in-kind donation to the ball, participants will also take active part in the on-site auction.

The kindness and generosity from all walks of life is going to bloom greater hope for quake-affected people. AmCham South China will spare no effort to bloom greater Hope for more people with the strength of Charity!
