Guangzhou Interchamber Charity Auction for Sichuan Earthquake

Updated Beijing Time

In light of the recent tragedy of the earthquake in Sichuan, the epicenter of which was a place called Wenchuan, several Chambers of Commerce in Guangzhou have agreed to organize a Charity Auction next Thursday 22nd May, in order to raise money for the victims of this catastrophic disaster.

We will be inviting various charity organizations to join the event (Gives, Lions Club), but we have contacted the Children's Hospital in Chengdu directly (where the majority of injured children are being taken for treatment). This is where we will send the proceeds directly with the help of either KPMG (BritCham treasurer) or PWC (Auscham treasurer) and the ANZ Bank (Australian New Zealand Bank). These are the channels usually used by Gives.

What we need from you, members and friends of the different Chambers of Commerce in Guangdong, is your help in providing with as many prizes/lots as possible for the Charity Auction. All the lots will be pooled together on Wednesday May 21st (before the event) and create a PowerPoint slide for each lot to be auctioned on Thursday 22nd at the Qbar, in the Westin Hotel.
