Chinese people like everything of their own to be lucky, especially marriage, the most important event of one's life. This year is 2009, it contains a "9" which shares the same pronunciation with the Chinese word "九 (久)," meaning long-lasting. Also, the year contains "double-spring and an intercalary month". Many youngsters want to marry this year.

2009, containing double-spring and an intercalary month, is a special year on the Lunar Calendar. According to the Gregorian calendar, there are 365 days in a year, while there are 354 in the Lunar Year. The 11 extra days accumulate to a month in 3 years' time, thus makes a leap year every 3 years to adjust the day gap between the Gregorian and Lunar one. As a result, this is a "double-spring and intercalary" year. Moreover, spring stands for "Yang (阳)", men and offspring. So it's a good year to marry.

In fact, day is the most important factor when selecting the lucky day to marry. If you want to marry, you must choose the season by fully considering the form of wedding and local climate. For instance, an outdoor wedding ceremony must be held in a sunny and lukewarm day. Also, you must consider whether your friends and relatives can come that day. Moreover, the wedding day should avoid the important period of working and studying. Of course, the elders' opinion should not be neglected, either.

After making a synthesis of the factors above, you can select the wedding day according to your birthdays.
