Guangzhou's GDP Per Capita Exceeds 10,000 USD, Double of Province's Average

The GDP of Guangzhou, South China, in 2008 reached 821.582 billion Yuan, 12.3% up than 2007, and ranked the 3rd largest among all cities in China, according to the primary data the local Municipal Statistics Bureau announced on January 23, 2009.

初步核算，2008年广州市地区生产总值（GDP）突破8000亿元，达8215.82亿元，比上年增长12.3%，经济总量在全国主要城市中位居第三。

Guangzhou’s GDP per capita last year amounted to 81,233 Yuan (11,696 USD, based on registered citizen population), 10% more than 2007, and achieved the target of 10, 000 USD by 2010 two years ahead that was set for the 11th Five-Year Plan.

当年广州市人均GDP为81233元（按常住人口平均数计算，折11696美元），提前两年完成“十一五”目标（到2010年全市人均GDP达到1万美元），同比增长10.0%。 

Service sector, the biggest propel to economy

第三产业成拉动经济增长主要力量

The service sector contributed 7.9 percent of the GDP rise as the leading propel, while industry contributed 4.4 percent.

2008年广州第二、三产业分别拉动全市经济增长4.4个和7.9个百分点，第三产业成为拉动广州经济增长的主要力量。

In 2008 the city accomplished the gross industrial output value of 1263.905 billion Yuan, up 13.1% than 2007. The ratio of energy use against each 10,000 Yuan output dropped 4.35%.

2008年，全市实现工业总产值12639.05亿元，增长13.1%。预计全市万元生产总值能耗比上年下降4.35%。

The urban and rural residents’ disposable income per capita respectively reached 25,317 Yuan and 9,828 Yuan, increasing actually by 6.4% and 4.3% on the year-on-year basis.

城乡居民收入较快增长。2008年，城市居民人均可支配收入25317元，实际增长6.4%。农村居民人均纯收入9828元，实际增长4.3%。 

In the end of 2008, 2.2488 million were registered as employed in urban organizations, up by 0.5%. The consumers’ market enjoyed sustainable prosperity in general.

2008年末，全市城镇单位从业人员224.88万人，增长0.5%。消费市场持续畅旺。

Facing the coming economic difficulty, the Municipal Statistics Bureau predicted the city’s economy would keep increasing stably this year, as Guangzhou has accumulated ample resources and development experiences resulting in mounting capacity against the possible odds, and will also welcome the substantial incentive of hosting the 16th Asian Games in 2010.

市统计局认为，广州已经积累了较雄厚的物质基础和较丰富的改革发展经验，抵御各种风险的能力大大提升。特别是2010年举办第16届亚运会，将带来重大的历史机遇。预计2009年广州经济将保持平稳增长。

Guangzhou’s GDP per capita exceeds the province’s average by double

广州人均GDP超全省平均水平一倍

The GDP per capita of the Pearl River Delta in 2008 reached 62, 644 Yuan (9,020 USD), beyond the average of Guangdong province by 66.7%, according to the Guangdong Provincial Statistics Department. "

记者从广东省统计局了解到，2008年珠三角人均GDP达62643.83元，比全省平均水平高66.7%。

The level of Guangzhou and Shenzhen double the province’s average.

广州、深圳人均发展水平更是超过全省水平的一倍。

The GDP per capita of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Foshan all surpassed 10,000 USD last year.

广州、深圳、佛山人均GDP均超过10000美元大关。
