Travel authorities recently announced new air and train travel services that will offer more convenience and options for passengers.

Temporary proof of identity can be issued within just 40 seconds

The Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department recently introduced devices at T1 and T2 terminals of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport to issue temporary proof of identity for air travelers. The devices greatly benefit those who forget to take their ID cards and have to go through the time-consuming processes of waiting in long queues and submitting various materials before they eventually obtain proof of their identities.

Now with the new service, passengers only need to key in their ID card numbers and undergo facial recognition at the devices. All procedures, including data reading, image acquisition, identity authentication, information verification and proof issuance can be completed within 40 seconds. Then passengers can go to a police station near the device to get proof of their identity stamped. The stamped certification allows them to board planes.

The opening of this new air route will provide not only more convenience for air travelers to Cambodia, but also will offer better interconnection among countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

One flight will be available between the two cities every day. The incoming flight will depart from Sihanoukville at 10:50 p.m. and arrive in Guangzhou at 2: 25 a.m. The Guangzhou-Sihanoukville flight will leave Guangzhou at 3: 25 a.m. and land in Sihanoukville at 5:10 a.m. (Note: Times listed are based on local times.).
